Sri Lanka had a strong presence at the International French Market (IFTM) Top Resa, featuring 27 companies and its new destination branding, “You will come back for more,” after a brief absence in 2021. France is one of Sri Lanka’s top seven tourist markets, with over 44,000 European visitors in the first nine months of 2023, following the UK and Germany. The presence of 27 co-exhibitors at IFTM Top Resa demonstrated the revival of tourism in Sri Lanka. They transitioned from the “seeing is believing” campaign, highlighting the country’s normalcy, to the new campaign with the slogan “You will come back for more.”

The Sri Lanka pavilion at IFTM was inaugurated traditionally, with the lighting of an oil lamp by the Sri Lanka Ambassador in France, Manisha Gunasekara. It was attended by representatives from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Sri Lankan Airlines, the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), and the Tourist Hoteliers’ Association of Sri Lanka (THASL). The Sri Lanka pavilion attracted considerable attention, showcasing the country’s culture, natural beauty, and Ayurvedic offerings as a tourism destination. It effectively conveyed the message, “Sri Lanka – You will come back for more,” through captivating visuals. To promote Ceylon tea in the French market, visitors at the pavilion were
treated to this delightful beverage.
